Ask a Local Anything: Inside the Roavi Community

Most travel advice online is either outdated, generic, or written by someone who visited once for four days. The Roavi Community exists to fix that specific problem: a place to ask travel questions and get real answers from verified locals.

What It Actually Is

The Community is a public feed inside Roavi, browsable by city and by topic, built around three simple post types:

• Questions — anything you'd want to ask before or during a trip: is this area safe at night, what's a fair taxi price, is it worth visiting in the rainy season, where do locals actually eat.
• Tips — locals and experienced travelers sharing something specific and useful: a viewpoint that isn't in the guidebooks, a scam to watch out for, a neighborhood that's changed recently.
• Trips — travelers posting their own upcoming plans, which is often how solo travelers connect with each other for part of a trip, not just with locals.

Why It's Different From a Generic Search

A search engine gives you the same ten links everyone else gets, often written months or years ago. The Community gives you people — specifically, Local Friends who currently live in the city you're asking about, plus other travelers who are there right now or were recently. The answer to "is it worth taking the ferry to that island in the off-season" is going to be more accurate coming from someone who lives there this month than from an article published three years ago.

How It Connects to the Rest of Roavi

The Community is free to browse and post in on its own — you don't need to do anything else with Roavi to get value from it. But it also sits right next to Roavi's core feature: connecting travelers directly with verified Local Friends for real conversations, custom experiences, and personalized itineraries. Plenty of Community conversations naturally lead somewhere further — a question about a neighborhood turns into a message to the local who answered it, and eventually a custom experience together. Nothing about the Community requires that next step, but it's there if a conversation goes that direction.

Each of these gets real replies from people who actually know the place, not a search-engine summary of ten other articles.
